Maison Therese

Heritage

Maison Therese was founded in 1965, over forty years ago by Therese Mooren. Therese was born in Holland and emigrated to New Zealand over 50 years ago.

She started producing in her kitchen at home, that is how the name ‘Maison Therese’ was derived, ‘Maison’ meaning ‘the house’. Maison Therese produced its first jar of pickled Onions and Gherkins in 1965 and has been preserving favourite New Zealand flavours ever since.

Gradually they expanded to include other products and target other markets, all made to Maison Therese’s recipes. The company is still owned and run by Therese’s daughter Monique Bradshaw and granddaughter’s, Emma and Kate.

Maison Therese has diversified quite substantially in the last 10 years touching many new markets. A stunning gift range with a beautiful silver label has been developed specifically aimed at the corporate gift market. The supply to restaurants, cafes and catering companies throughout New Zealand with fantastic products in 2L and 4L pails is an area of business which continues to grow with Maison Therese having the reputation of creating a ‘wow’ factor.
